THE PLOT:

We enter the world of Toyland, where all the characters given birth by Mother Goose lives and plays in happiness and peace. But there is one character that doesn't want peace, the Crooked old man Mister Barniby.

Barniby wants Little Bo Peep for his very own and not in that nice way. To get his lustful dream to become reality he holds the mortage to the shoe that Bo Peep's Mother lives in.

Ollie Dee offers to borrow the money she needs from the Toy Maker. But the salvation of money from the boss is short lived for Ollie Dee and Stannie Dum are fired due to a mistake on Stannie Dum's part.

Can Ollie Dee and Stannie Dum save the Bo Peep and Toy Land from this wicked dirty old man? This mean Mister Barniby?

ZEDD'S OPINION:

Laurel and Hardy make a great comic team and this is truly a classic, I love they way they dressed a spider monkey like a cartoon mouse. But this classic is far from perfect. The pig and cat costume need work around the eyes and the story is Tom-Tom and Bo Peep and their friends run away from Fairy Tale land and find toy land. Not living in Toyland in the beginning. But keeping in mind when it was made I give it some slack and give it....8 STARS

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

That's what Zedd calls giving the movie slack, not much slack. I for a party of one find this a great movie even with it's flaws. I love the slap stick, MARCH OF THE WOODEN SOLDIERS continues to be one of my favorite classic music pieces and this movie goes down on my list of one of the 100 greatest movies of all time, I give it...10 STARS

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ SLAPSTICK (We both loved the slapstick in this movie)
+ CAST (The other cast did a great job)
+ MUSIC (The music was cute)
+ LAUREL AND HARDY (A great comic duo)
+ CLASSICAL PIECE (One of Voltron's favorite pieces of classical music)
+ MONKEY COSTUME (I loved the monkey in the mouse costume)
+ COSTUMES (The other costumes like the Three Little Pigs and the Cat and the fiddle was good, not great)
+ 1934 (Keep this fact in mind, I think they did a fine job)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- STORY MISTAKES (The story starts in Fairy Tale Land and ends in Toyland)
- COSTUME ERRORS (Mainly around the eyes)

AND FIANLLY....

- NOT FOR EVERYONE (If you aren't into really old movies, then this isn't for you)
