The basic plot if you can call it that is Jamie's wife is murdered after receiving a mysterious package of a ventriloquist
doll named Billy. The Police thinks he did it, even though the wife had no defensive wounds, he didn't have a scratch on
him or a drop of blood. Jamie goes back to his home town once he discovers that the dummy was one of the legendary children
of Mary Shaw. But "Columbo" follows him looking to arrest him for tampering with evidence and still thinks he's
the killer just because there was "no sign of forced entry".
The one thing I can't stand as much as a bad ending is a movie that doesn't make any sense and apparently Leigh Whannell
and James Wan never watch CSI. Because once they consider Billy the Dummy evidence they would have taken Billy and removed
it from the apartment, once CSI clears the crime scene what ever is left behind, is NO LONGER EVIDENCE. Plus, that's they're
big case, he did it because they was no sign of forced entry? Yeah, that taking that flimsy case to a judge, see how fast
he throws your sorry butt out. It means one of two things, Jaime killed her or she let her killer into the apartment, DUH!
The fact they never considered that makes them the dumbest cops in the history of dumb cops.
Something about Mary Shaw killing a kid to make the perfect dummy, they never elaborated why and why she had the mortician
turn her into a big dummy herself. Real deep characters is not these guys strong points.
Plus, the tongue helps you talk but it's not the only source, cutting someone's tongue out make stop that person from
talking but you won't be able to talk with their voice, it's the voice box is the main source of talking. That's basic anatomy,
Duh!
And now the other shoe, Jamie destroys all the dummies which was the link to Mary's ghost. But surprise, surprise. His
father was already dead by his blushing bride who was really the ultimate dummy and turned Jaime's father into a dummy. Then
he screams and dies. Bad ending leaving it open for another horrible movie.
You ask me the biggest dummies were the two writers of this pile of junk. James Wan and Leigh Whannell should be ashamed
of themselves. Here is some advice, a-holes! Research a subject before making a movie so you won't look like you are, totally
morons! Oh yeah, and it DOESN'T HAVE TO HAVE A BAD ENDING JUST BECAUSE IT'S A HORROR MOVIE! It takes creativity and imagination
to come up with a way to leave it open without the big twist other shoe ending. It was from the makers of SAW so I wasn't
surprise that it was a total pile and they are bad writers and producers and all bad children should get the LUMP OF COAL!
