THE PLOT:

Making a special puppet from a tree that called out to him, Geppetto's creation comes to life, freaking the heck out of Geppetto. But adaptating quickly Geppetto calls the living puppet Pinocchio.

But life for Pinocchio isn't easy, temptation and misunderstandings at ever turn, plus people who would exploit the naive puppet.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

So far the best live action adaptations of the story yet. The characters, the story, the fact it looked like a living puppet, not just a guy in bad make up. The first time a boy has played him helps. Unlike other live versions where Pinocchio was played by full grown adults like Roberto Benigni and Paul Reubens. I mean they were like forty playing a wooden boy. How lame was that. Anyway, I digress.
This is the best live action adaptation and I give it 9 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

Now I'm confused, was the cricket named Jiminy or Pepe? That's my only major complaint and I'm not sure what if anything they re-wrote for this adaptation. So I'm giving it 9 STARS as well.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ STORY (The story works.)
+ CAST (The cast does an amazing job.)
+ EFFECTS (The fact he looked like a puppet really worked)
+ REAL BOY (A real boy played the part and not a 40 year old man in make up helped.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- CRICKET'S NAME (What was it in the book?)
- RE-WRITES (Were there any?)

...AND FINALLY...

- FAN BASED (If you aren't big on this story or fantasy tales, then this isn't for you.)
