THE PLOT:
Casey misses her mother who passed away a couple of years back and her dad Ben thinks it's time she had a strong female presence
in her life so he starts dating again. Which Casey hates and with a book of magic she finds, she plans of magically resurrecting
her mother. With some hairs left behind on the brush she use to use.
But when Drew, the woman Casey's dad has been dating uses the brush behind her back to comb the hair of Eve, the fashion
doll she got Cassey it blows the spell and brings Eve to life.
Casey decides to use this disaster to destroy the relationship between Drew and her dad until she can try again to bring
her mother back.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
This is a interesting movie concept except there are serious character flaws. The Casey character always whining about her
mother, the Eve character is so perky she's annoying. Now don't get me wrong, I love the cast, but this concept just didn't
work very well for me. Then it leads to a predictable climax, so I must say I have to give life-size a mere 2 1/2 STARS.
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I couldn't agree more, some of it was funny. But I think it would have been funnier if they went with the divorced route
and she purposely brought the doll to life. Her whining, and all the drama don't really make it fit for most kids, because
they won't find it interesting. 1 1/2 STARS
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ CAST (I love the cast.)
+ EFFECTS (The effects are impressive.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- CHARACTERS (The characters were really poorly written.)
- STORY (Was kind of dark and depressing for a family movie.)
- ANNOYING (It really got annoying in places.)
- NOT FUNNY (Allot of it was dark, depressing and not very funny.)
...AND FINALLY...
- NOT FOR EVERYONE (No matter what some say, this is not a good family movie, you're kids will not enjoy it.)
