THE PLOT:
Three Siblings home alone find a strange old board game hidden under the stairs leading to the basement, Danny wants to play
with his older Brother Walter. But Walter thinks his younger brother is uncool. But when Danny starts the game, it transports
them, their sister and the entire house to outer space.
Trapped they must overcome past arguments and with the help of the Astronaught beat the game so they can go home while
avoid man eating Zorgons.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
I wish they would continue the Jumanji storyline. But Zathura is another interesting story in the lines of Jumanji. The idea
of a house floating in space is cool. The Zorgon alien monsters is very cool. Just like Jumanji, Zathura has cool effects
and creature designs. It's full of warmth, humor and cool monsters. What you expect from the people that brought you Jumanji.
You all know what I feel about that, nothing but good things if you don't know. On the negative side, like Jumanji I think
it would have been fun to find out who made Zathura and how it came to be under the stairs and the bickering brothers got
annoying at times. But as a whole it is worth watching and if you like Jumanji then you will love Zathura. 8 STARS.
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd on this. There really isn't much I can add this time except for the fact if you didn't like Jumanji you
may not like Zathura. 8 STARS from me as well.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ STORY (The story works very well.)
+ EFFECTS (The space effects are very realistic.)
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (The Zorgon and Robot effects were way cool.)
+ FUNNY (It has it's funny points.)
+ TOUCHING (It's got human emotion.)
+ EXCITING (Never, ever dull.)
+ MUST SEE (If you like Jumanji, then you must watch Zathura.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- FIGHTING (The brothers always arguing with each other got annoying at times.)
...AND FINALLY...
- FAN BASED (If you didn't like Jumanji, you may not like Zathura.)
