THE PLOT:
When a Rap Group starts to hit it big, they are harassed by a criminal who owns a rap label (sound like anyone in real life.)
But when the youngsters refuse to deal with the devil, He arranges to hurt the lead rapper's Grandmother and nearly kill
her. Which is a big mistake. For his unleashes ancient VooDoo magic, what his Grandmother calls the Killing kind and places
it in her old Ragdoll.
Now the Ragdoll kills enemy and friend alike. For there is no control the evil magic once you unleashed it.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
This is in a wave of horror movies that had a African American cast only. This, Cryptz, Killjoy. Where the entire cast was
African American. A wave of reverse predigist movies, that's right you heard me. If there was an all white movie came out
in the 1990s. There would be another million man march screaming bigotry. Wrong is wrong and an all black or all white cast
is just wrong. But as for the story, it works for the most part, the ragdoll is scary, a little too scary for a little girl
to love. But what's ya going to do. On the whole, not bad. But Charles Band could have done better...8 STARS.
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd 100 % about reverse bigotry. This PC bulls*** has got to stop! Also, beside that, who the hell heard of
magic you can't control. Who in their right so-called mind would say "If I created this magic spell it will kill me.
Oh, well. I'll do it anyway." What the hell is with that. The idea of creating a spell is to control it. That makes
no sense to me and that is why my grade is much, much lower then Zedd's grade. I give it 6 STARS.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ STORY (For the most part the story does work.)
+ SCARY (It does have it's scary moments.)
+ DOLL EFFECTS (Like most things connected to Full Moon, the doll effects were good.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- SCARY DOLL (The doll was good, but what kind of sick child would love this doll.)
- BIGOTRY (All once race cast, no matter which race, unless it's a foriegn film is just wrong.)
- RAP (Why? Why did it have to be rap. The devil's "music" and I use the word music loosely.)
...AND FINALLY...
- UNCONTROLABLE MAGIC (That does against magic, the idea of magic is control. Even Voodoo magic.)
